Turmoil in the house of Fiona

Hamish is a few days into starting school, I've just paid for and received 24 kg of assorted stuff to be shipped over here, and I'm not long back from a trip to Scotland which left me ranting and moaning about the state of life and obesity and everything else in the UK. And what does it all add up to?

We're moving back.

That's right.

I can hardly believe it myself.

And what's more, I don't feel too terrible about it.

Not that it's not without it's complications, and changes of heart, and hours and hours of discussion on whether we stay or go, but I *think* we're settled. I feel pretty certain that I am making the right decision for us as a family. More to come!

  1. WOW - that's a big decision!

But once it's made, then that's the hardest part done (well except for packing up and relocating your entire life).
Can't wait to read your mad ravings about life on 'the other side'.

And just think of the chocolate buttons.......

    1. Wasn't exactly our decision. The secondment finishes in November, and they won't extend it.

I'll take comfort in the chocolate buttons at least!

  4. I'll be sad to miss out on your adventures in Berlin, but I think repatriation will be full of entertaining blog fodder! And I'm happy you'll get to eat all your favorite goodies again. But here or there, please keep writing! :)

  6. Heather & Mrs Dietz, somehow Blogger won't let me reply to you individually at the moment, so collectively, "Aaw! Thankyou!" Heather, the way things are shaping up you could be right. Mrs D. your emotion is touching. Now get back to blogging!

  7. Oh my gosh! And oh no I still haven't even gotten a chance to call you and talk to you in real time! At the least I am excited to hear more details. And I hope you're planning on keeping up the blog once you're back with all the gritty details of repatriation...

    1. Thanks! And I think I'll keep the blog up for a little while once we're back, and then maybe pick it up again when we move back out here in 2014! ;)
